Metropolitan Region Scheme (MRS) Amendment 1412 proposes to rezone approximately 98.3ha in Baldivis from ‘Rural’ to ‘Urban Deferred’.
The Western Australian Planning Commission proposes to rezone approximately 178 hectares
of land in Maida Vale from the Rural zone to the Urban Deferred zone in order to facilitate
future residential development.
The City of Gosnells has initiated Amendments 166 to zone land from General Rural to Business
Development. The Amendment areas is known as Precinct 3B within the Maddington Kenwick Strategic
Employment Area.

The EPA will provide strategic advice to the Minister for Environment on the potential cumulative impacts of the activities and developments proposed for Exmouth Gulf. The assessment periods for Subsea 7‘s Learmonth Pipeline Fabrication Facility proposal and the Shire of Exmouth’s rezoning proposal will be extended so that the findings of this environmental study can be fully considered.
The Shire of Exmouth proposes Amendment 1 to rezone part of lots 223, 234, 235 and 1586 Minilya-Exmouth Road, Learmonth from 'Rural' and 'Foreshore Reserve' to 'Special Use 10' to facilitate the development of a pipeline fabrication facility (Learmonth Pipeline Fabrication Facility). The scheme amendment is being assessed on aspects that relate to the proposed change in zoning of the land.
The public review process for the scheme amendment is managed by the Shire of Exmouth and the review period will run from 2 October 2019 until the 30 November 2019. The City proposes to rezone and reserve Lot 105 Frenchman Bay Road Big Grove from ‘Public Use’ to ‘Future Urban’ and ‘Parks and Recreation’.
*The Shire of Mundaring has advised the EPA it will not be proceeding the scheme amendment.
The Shire of Mundaring proposes to rezone Lot 500 Coothallie Road, Chidlow from Special Use
to Development. The current Special Use zoning permits the development of an 'eco-village' with a maximum of 104 strata title residential lots clustered in and around cleared areas on the eastern side of Lot 500. Rezoning Lot 500 to Development would facilitate rural residential development across Lot 500. Lot 500 is 162 hectares in size and contains a large area of vegetation confirmed as black cockatoo habitat and potential nesting habitat.
Rezone Lot 21 Southern Estuary Road and Part Lot 7 Dunkeld Road, Herron from the Rural zone to the Rural Residential zone.
Final decision
On the 27th July 2020 the Minister for Environment, in accordance with section 48A(2) of the Environmental Protection Act 1986, advised the City of Mandurah that Amendment 137 is incapable of being made environmentally acceptable, and a statement of environmental conditions cannot be delivered and published under section 48F of the EP Act.
