Local Planning Scheme 8 is proposed to replace the existing Town Planning Scheme 7. The changes are predominantly to update the Scheme to align with the Planning and Development Regulations 2015, ensure consistency with the Greater Bunbury Region Scheme and to reflect existing land use. The new scheme proposes a number of changes including new zones, rezonings, text updates, scheme provision amendments, additional uses to reflect actual land uses and the introduction of several Special Control Areas.
Removal of Additional Use 52 from the 'Rural Residential' zoned Lot 30 Millbrook Road,
Yallingup and introduction of Special Provision 71 to a portion of Lot 30 Millbrook Road
(proposed Lot 8 Millbrook Road) to include a number of additional 'A' uses.
The Shire of Augusta-Margaret River proposes to add provisions to Schedule 7 of its scheme text to allow for the subdivision of 2 adjacent Rural Residential zoned lots into 1 ha lots. At present the minimum lot size permitted is 3 ha.
Amendment 38 proposes to include an Additional Use (A82) to allow for commercial, tourism
based development on the non-vegetated portions of Lot 61 (400) Metricup Road, Metricup.
Rezone from Rural Residential and Agriculture to Urban Development zone.
The proposed scheme amendment proposes to rezone Lot 221 Lakes Road and parts of Lot
400 Paterson Road, Nambeelup from Rural to Industrial.
Amendment 37 proposes to rezone Lot 7 Forrest Beach Road, Wonnerup from 'Agriculture'
zone to 'Conservation' zone, 'Reserve for Recreation' and 'Reserve for Public Purpose (Water Tank).
The Western Australian Planning Commission has initiated Amendment 0054-57 to rezone Lot 29
Jeffrey Road, Glen Iris from 'Public Purpose- Special Uses' reserve to 'Urban Deferred' zone to
facilitate future residential development.
