Zemira 3D Seismic Survey

Project
Proposal description

The proposal is to undertake an onshore three-dimensional (3D) seismic survey in the northern Perth Basin. The survey area is about 300 kilometres (km) north of Perth, and its nearest boundary is about 4.5 km north of the town of Eneabba and about 25 km southeast of the town of Dongara. The survey area is situated within four local shires:  Shire of Irwin, Shire of Three Springs, Shire of Mingenew and Shire of Carnamah.

The intent of the Zemira 3D Seismic Survey is to collect a high-quality 3D dataset that can be used to map geological formations to assist in the identification of conventional gas reserves and detailed reservoir development.

The survey area is about 97,000 hectares (ha) and comprises an estimated disturbance  footprint of  ~1500 ha, with temporary clearing of up to 1000 ha of vegetation. The seismic survey is expected to occur over a 12–15 week period, preferably between December and May.
