Northern Goldfields Interconnect Pipeline

Project
Proposal description:

APA Northern Goldfields Interconnect Pty Ltd proposes to construct and operate the Northern Goldfields Interconnect Pipeline. The 300 mm diameter buried gas pipeline will extend for approximately 580 km, starting from Ambania (50 km east of Geraldton) to 40 km south of Leinster where it will connect into the existing Goldfields Gas Pipeline. The project will connect existing gas assets in the Mid West region with existing gas assets in the Northern Goldfields region.

The proposal includes associated aboveground infrastructure, such as a compressor station at Ambania and other stations such valve stations, scraper stations etc, at various locations along the pipeline.

The proposal is linear in nature and has an indicative development envelope of 12,404 ha.  Construction of the pipeline will include clearing of up to 2,286 ha, of which 1,934 ha will be native vegetation. The pipeline alignment will make use of existing infrastructure corridors where possible. The pipeline will intersect PEC/TEC Eucalypt Woodlands of the Western Australian Wheatbelt.
