The Western Australian Water Corporation is proposing to construct the Alkimos Seawater Desalination Plant (ASDP) as part of Perth’s Integrated Water Supply Scheme which aims to provide additional sources of drinking water to supplement the existing metropolitan water supply. Mesa A Hub Revised Proposal

Robe River Mining Co Pty Ltd is seeking to extend the existing Mesa A / Warramboo Iron Ore Mining Project by extending the existing mining operation and developing four new nearby deposits. The proposal is 43 kilometres west of Pannawonica in the Pilbara Region. The proposal would require an additional 3000 hectares of clearing of native vegetation, with some below water table mining. Jackson 5 and Bungalbin East Iron Ore Project

The proposal is to construct and operate two iron ore mines, haul roads and mine infrastructure in the Yilgarn area of Western Australia, 100 kilometres north of Southern Cross. Following the appeal period and the Ministers subsequent determination on the Appeals received, the Minister remitted this proposal back to the EPA for assessment at the level of Public Environmental Review (8 weeks). Magellan Lead Carbonate Project, Wiluna

The proposal is to develop an open-cut lead carbonate mine and processing facilities approximately 30 kilometres west of the Wiluna townsite to produce a lead concentrate. The lead concentrates will be refined at the Wiluna minesite to produce lead metal, or alternatively will be transported by road to the Geraldton Port and exported. Jack Hills Iron Ore Project

The proposal is to develop an iron ore (haematite) mine at Jack Hills approximately 100 km west of Meekatharra. The project will have a lifespan of approximately seven years (five years of mining, two years of closure activities) and will be a contract mining operation. The proposal is for residential development on the East Clontarf site, approximately 18ha in size. The site is bounded by Manning Road, Centenary Avenue and the Canning River. It is zoned Urban in the Metropolitan Region Scheme (MRS) and Residential in the City of South Perth Town Planning Scheme. Mt Margaret Nickel-Cobalt Project

The proposal is for a large-scale nickel and cobalt mining and processing operation which will involve the mining and processing of up to 15 million dry tonnes per annum (Mtpa) of lateritic ore to produce approximately 60,000 tonnes per annum (tpa) of nickel and up to 8,000 tpa of cobalt.
