Lynas Kalgoorlie Pty Ltd (Lynas) propose to construct and operate a new Rare Earths Processing Facility at Lot 500 Great Eastern Highway, Yilkari and a By-product storage facility on Common Reserve 8767, Yarri Road, Parkerston in the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder. The proposal is to extract and process Rare Earth Element ore from four mining pits in the Yangibana Project area. The Project area is located approximately 270 kilometres east-north-east of Carnarvon in the Shire of Upper Gascoyne. The proposal is to build and operate a rare earth plant on a site 4 km south of Alcoa Alumina Refinery and adjacent to the existing Rhone-Poulenc Gallium Plant at Pinjarra, approximately 100km south of Perth and 30 km south-east of Mandurah.
