The proposal is to recommence quarrying at Pivot Hill (M80/618(P) & L80/63(P)). It involves the extraction of up to 45,000 tonnes per year of basalt for use as aggregates in civil works. The proposal is for the extension of an existing quarry at The Lakes, approximately 16 kilometres east of Mundaring and 47 kilometres south-west of Northam on the Great Southern Highway. B & J Catalano propose to develop a granite quarry on Lot 501 Coalfields Road, Wellington, in the Shire of Harvey. The area of disturbance is up to 10 hectares. It is proposed to extract 50,000 to 100,000 tonnes of hard rock per year. The expected life of the operations is 20 years.
