Utah Point Berth Project (Stage B)

The Utah Point Berth Project consists of two separate stages: Stage A: Dredging and Reclamation; and Stage B: Construction and Operation. Stage A, dredging and reclamation works for the UPBP was approved by the Minister for Environment as an amendment to the existing Fortescue Metals Group (FMG) approval and managed according to the approved conditions. Jimblebar Iron Ore Project

The proposal is to extend the existing Wheelarra Hill open pits, develop the South Jimblebar and Hashimoto deposits, and to increase the ore processing capacity by 30 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) to 75 mtpa. Open pit mining will occur above and below ground and will involve dewatering. Excess water will be discharged into the Ophthalmia Dam. Read more...

Orebody 18 Iron Ore Mine (s46)

The Minister for Environment requested the EPA inquire into the matter of changing the implementation conditions relating to the Orebody 18 Iron Ore Mine proposal, particularly the matter of setting a condition on the proposal that would require environmental offsets for the clearing of native vegetation. Nammuldi-Silvergrass Expansion Project

The proposal involves the expansion of existing operations of the Nammuldi-Silvergrass Iron Ore Project and is therefore a Revised Proposal.The proposal includes the additional clearing of approximately 3,900 ha of vegetation for mine pits, waste dumps and associated mine infrastructure and facilities, and approximately 2,500 ha for the IAA. Pivot Hill Mining Proposal 29311 (Revised) to recommence quarrying

The proposal is to recommence quarrying at Pivot Hill (M80/618(P) & L80/63(P)). It involves the extraction of up to 45,000 tonnes per year of basalt for use as aggregates in civil works. This would require 4.4 hectares (ha) of clearing of native vegetation in addition to the existing 2.45 hectares of previously disturbed land, within a Mining Lease covering 45 ha. Dirk Hartog Island Short Stay Units

Hypermarket Pty Ltd proposes to develop seven short stay units on Lot 304 Sunday Island Bay, Dirk Hartog Island. Approximately 5 per cent of the 11.3 hecatre lot will be developed for this proposal, and Lot 304 is located within the Shark Bay World Heritage Area and adjacent to the Dirk Hartog Island National Park and Shark Bay Marine Park. Kintyre Uranium Project

The proposal is for the construction and operation the Kintyre uranium project. The proposal includes the open cut mining of uranium ore, processing, and the transport of uranium ore concentrate to the Port of Adelaide. Magellan Lead Carbonate Project - Inquiry under s46 to amend Ministerial Statement 905

The Minister for Environment has requested that the EPA inquire into and report on the matter of changing the implementation conditions relating to Ministerial Statement 905 in order to: extend the time limit on shipments of lead carbonate through Fremantle Port (condition 3A); and reduce the amount of the financial assurance required and allow the release and reinstatement of the financial assurance in the event operations are suspended (condition 18).
