The proposal aims to reduce the flow of high salinity river water entering Wellington Dam and improve the quality of dam water for irrigated agriculture in the Collie and Myalup irrigation districts. The proposal is for the works and operation of a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) and woodlot reuse scheme for the first three years. The Shire of Esperance propose to demolish the heritage listed Esperance Tanker Jetty as it has fallen into disrepair and no longer deemed economically viable for the Shire to maintain.
