The proposal is to develop the Tubridgi Gas Field to supply natural gas to the existing Dampier to Perth pipeline. This would require the establishment of processing facilities on site near Onslow and an 85 kilometre connecting pipe to join into the main line. The proposal is to provide reticulated gas to the public in the Mandurah area using standard air/gas mixing and storage facilities at SECWA's site in Gordon Road, Mandurah. The plant will provide an initial gas reticulation system to allow a customer base to be established. The proposal is to drill an exploratory oil well at a site 6 km offshore from the mouth of the Ashburton River and 20 km west of Onslow. Drilling is expected to begin in December 1989 and will take about three weeks to complete. The proposed site lies within a Special Protection Locality in water about 10 m deep. Minora Resources NL has submitted a proposal to drill a third exploration oil well in its lease, EP 325, Exmouth Gulf. The well is located 13 km south east of the town of Exmouth. Proposal to undertake a seismic survey in an area which partially overlaps the south-eastern corner of Cape Range National Park. The proposal involves 12.9 km of seismic survey in the National Park using the vibroseis technique. Wesfarmers LPG Pty Ltd are currently constructing an LPG extraction facility at Kwinana, adjacent to Mason Road, and opposite the proposed site for the Petrochemical Industries Company Limited (PICL) proposal.
