Kimberley Aquaculture Development Zone

A 2,000 hectare aquaculture development zone located within Cone Bay, as defined by spatial coordinates provided in Table 2 of Schedule 1, as represented in Figure 1 and described in Table 1 of Schedule 1 (Kimberley Aquaculture Development Zone) with a maximum production capacity of 20,000 tonnes per annum of marine finfish of a species that occurs naturally within the Pilbara and Kimberley Region. Commercial Scale Algae Farm and Processing Facilities, Karratha

The proposal is to develop a commercial-scale algae farm and processing facilities located near Karratha in the Shire of Roebourne. The project would involve cultivation, harvesting, separation and processing of algae. Transitional Development of Cone Bay Marine Tropical Finfish Aquaculture Venture, Aquaculture Licence 1465, Shire of Derby/West Kimberley

1,000 tonnes per year production of Barramundi in Cone Bay, Shire of Derby-West Kimberley

The proposal is to utilise aquaculture techniques to produce a maximum of 1,000 tonnes of Barramundi per year in Cone Bay. Cone Bay is within the Buccaneer Archipelago approximately 215 kilometres (km) north-northeast of Broome in the north-west of Western Australia. Cone Bay is approximately 20 km long and 6.5 km wide near its west-facing opening and is fringed by sandstone cliffs on both sides. Proposed marron farm at Landsdale

Last updated: August 29, 1991

The proposal has changed since it was first referred to the Authority. The original proposal was for up to 500,000 marron and some trout with a low water usage. The waste water was to be discharged to a windbreak around the property consisting of 1,100 Casuarina trees. The proponent now proposes to install sufficient tanks for breeding and grow-out of 5,000 marron as stage one of the proposal and then annually increase the system to a total of between 200,000 to 300,000 marron. Marron Farm, Lot 1 Doghill Road, Baldivis

The proposal is to construct dams for the purpose of growing marron. The proponent intends to ensure that the dams will be sealed with clay to ensure no leakage of groundwater into or out of the dams.
