Revised GHG guidance
The EPA has released its revised Environmental Factor Guideline – Greenhouse Gas Emissions (EFG – GHG).
The EFG – GHG is used by the EPA in its environmental impact assessments to outline how and when greenhouse gas emissions will be considered.
The EPA's objective is to minimise the risk of environmental harm associated with climate change by reducing greenhouse gas emissions as far as practicable.
The update comes after significant engagement with stakeholders, government and the community. This included an eight-week public consultation period when the EPA received 1088 submissions. Feedback from these submissions has been incorporated into the revised guidance.
