Proposal description

The proposal is to extend the existing Wheelarra Hill open pits, develop the South Jimblebar and Hashimoto deposits, and to increase the ore processing capacity by 30 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) to 75 mtpa. Open pit mining will occur above and below ground and will involve dewatering. Excess water will be discharged into the Ophthalmia Dam.
