Proposal description

The Waitsia Gas Project Stage 2 is a conventional gas proposal located approximately 16km East-South-East of the Dongara-Port Denison town sites.

The proposal includes clearing of up to 17 ha of native vegetation to support the following:

Construction and operation of a new gas processing plant with a maximum export capacity of 250 terajoules per day;

Drilling of up to 6 new production wells to supplement the existing 2 wells; and

Installation of a gas gathering system comprising of flowlines and hubs; and

Installation of a flowline from the proposed gas plant for water reinjection via a disused petroleum production well.

Attachment 1 to Statement 1164 - Changes:

  • Increasing the development envelope from 354 hectares (ha) to 409.25 ha.
  • Increasing the disturbance footprint from 345 ha to 397.75 ha within the development envelope.

Changes to proposal approved under S45c on 4 October 2021.

Attachment 2 to Statement 1164 - Changing production facility capacity from 250 terajoules per day to an annual limit of 91.25 petajoules. Increasing the size of the development envelope from 409.25 ha to 580.9 ha. Increasing the number of wells from 8 to 19. Increasing the disturbance footprint from 397.75 ha to 479.2 ha. Change to proposal approved under S45c on 16 April 2024.

Attachment 4 to Statement 1164 - Increasing the size of the development envelope from 580.9 ha to 581.2 ha. Increasing the disturbance footprint from 479.2 ha to 479.6 ha within the
development envelope. Increasing the gas production facility capacity from 91.25 Petajoules per annum to 100.375 Petajoules per annum. Change to proposal approved under S45c on 21 January 2025.
