The purpose of Amendment 017/57 to the Peel Region Scheme is to rezone 90 ha of land at North Yunderup, as described below, to permit urban development:
The Amendment also includes adjustments to the Regional Open Space reservation along Wilgie Creek.
Lots 1 and 3 Southern Estuary Road, Lake Clifton. Scheme Purpose: (a) rezoning Lot 3 Pt. Wellington Location 2942 Southern Estuary Road, Lake Clifton from “Rural 1 General Farming” to “ Rural 6 – Rural-Residential”; and (b) incorporating into Schedule 2 of the Scheme Text Policies and provisions relating to development on Lot 3 Location 2942, Southern Estuary Road.
The Shire of Harvey proposes to amend District Planning Scheme No. 1 by rezoning Lot 5 Old Coast Road, Leschenault (Pt Loc 23, Plan 7938) from "Tourist" zone and "Recreation" reserve to "Residential Development" zone, "Tourist" zone and "Recreation and Conservation" reserve and "Modified Water Body". The land the subject of this scheme amendment comprises an area bounded by the Collie River, the Old Coast Road and the Leschenault Inlet. The land essentially forms the Point Douro peninsula on the north-eastern side of the Collie River Delta.
This assessment is of a scheme remitted by the Minister for the Environment for the EPA to assess management plans for acid sulphate soils more fully and to review conditions relating to flood regimes (previous assessment no. 1156).

Appeals were allowed in part on 8 May 2006 for further assessment in relation to risks posed by acid sulphate soils. This assessment has been superseded by the assessment of Harvey District Planning Scheme No. 1 Amendment No 13.
The Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) has prepared a Region Scheme for the Peel Region, known as the Peel Region Scheme (PRS), pursuant to the Western Australian Planning Commission Act 1985. The WAPC, the Responsible Authority, proposes to recommend to the Hon Minister for Planning that the PRS be submitted to Parliament for final approval.
Section 48D of the Environmental Protection Act 1986 requires the EPA to report to the Minister for the Environment on the environmental factors relevant to the PRS and on the conditions and procedures to which the PRS should be subject, if implemented. In addition, the EPA may make recommendations as considered necessary.
