The proposal is for Stage 2 of the Kanowna Belle Gold Mine, comprising the construction and operation of a sulphide concentrate oxidation plant (roaster) within the existing mine site infrastructure. Stage 2 will provide the necessary facilities to further treat high sulphide containing ores to remove the gold that is not extracted in the Stage 1 plant. The proposal is to develop three small ore bodies to the east of the main ore body at the Boddington Gold Mine. The three small ore bodies are known as the Eastern Anomalies and it is proposed to mine them as an extension of the existing mining operation.
