An independent legal and governance review into the EPA’s internal practices for policy and guideline development and their application to environmental impact assessment was conducted in early 2016.
The EPA adopted the review’s recommendation to simplify and clarify policies and guidelines, with the new framework launched in December 2016. This reform program underpins our commitment to increasing the soundness, transparency and robustness of our advice.
The EPA has mapped the framework to allow easy navigation of the three categories:
- Process and procedures for environmental impact assessments
- Environmental considerations for environmental impact assessment
- Other advice, including Western Australian Government policies, and EPA advice.
