| Summary: Main Roads Western Australia propose to construct a major road bypassing the urban areas of Busselton. The general route, including feeder roads, was selected by the Main Roads Western Australia in the late 1970s. The route was subsequently gazetted in the Shire of Busselton Town Planning Scheme in 1982. The proposed roads cross a number of watercourses (e.g. the Vasse River), floodplains, a lake gazetted for protection by the Environmental Protection (Swan Coastal Plain Lakes) Policy 1992, and wetlands including palusplain and sumplands. The proposed bypass road alignment ran next to the Broadwater wetland suite which has conservation values identified by the System One Report and by waterbird surveys coordinated by the Royal Australasian Ornithologists Union. | Summary: West Australian Petroleum Pty Ltd (WAPET) has sought approval for changes to refuelling practices and oil spill response plans in its offshore permit area, TP/3 Part 1, located west of Onslow (Figure 1). The changes would be effective whilst oil production in Roller Oilfield and drilling elsewhere in Exploration Permit TP/3 Part 1 are under way. These projects were both previously assessed and reported on by the Environmental Protection Authority in September 1991 and environmental conditions were set by the Minister for the Environment in October and December 1991. | Summary: International Brick and Tile Pty Ltd (the proponent) received approval from the Minister for the Environment to develop the Malaga Brick and Tile Works (Figure 1) on 1 September 1987, subject to a number of legally binding Environmental Conditions and Commitments (Appendix 1). That approval was given after an assessment by the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) and release of its Report and Recommendations on the proposal (EPA Bulletin 292). A Works Approval and subsequently, a Licence (Appendix 2) were granted to the proponent to construct and operate the works. Operations commenced in 1988.
