	Summary: The proponent, Landcorp proposes to reclaim a maximum of 3.5 hectares (ha) of Hanover Bay in Princess Royal Harbour to create a commercial and urban development along the Albany foreshore. This development involves tourist and residential accommodation, and industrial and maritime uses. As part of the development plan, it is proposed to provide services including drainage, sewerage, and connection to water mains and power. 789	Development of part of System Six C70 south of the Maidens, Bunbury endowment land Part of Lot 626, and Parts of Lots 301 - 4
	Summary: The City of Bunbury and Homeswest are joint proponents for development of a portion of the residential zoned land within Part of Lot 626, and Parts of Lots 301 - 4. The proposal also includes retention of some areas for conservation, management of the designated conservation areas and construction of a water supply storage area. The proposal is located within an area identified for consideration of its conservation value by the Environmental Protection Authority in its System Six report of 1983. System Six recommendation C70, South Bunbury Coastal Land, recommended that 'Areas of Public Open Space, containing attractive and important features such as "The Maidens" and important stands of Tuart, be set aside at the time of subdivision of the coastal land south of Bunbury'. 788	Criteria of environmental acceptability for land use proposals within the catchment of Lake Clifton
	Summary: Lake Clifton is one of the most significant wetlands in Western Australia. It is internationally important as a waterbird habitat and because it contains the largest known example of living stromatolites , properly called thrombolites, in a lake environment in the southern hemisphere. It is one of only seven lakes in the southern hemisphere where stromatolite-like structures are known to occur in hyposaline water (salinity less than seawater), and has been listed under the Ramsar Convention as having international importance. 787	East Spar offshore gas field development Varanus Island, North West Shelf
	Summary: Western Mining Corporation proposes developing the East Spar gas field located in Commonwealth waters approximately 50 kilometres west of Barrow Island. Processing facilities would be constructed and operated on Varanus Island immediately adjacent to the existing Harriet Joint Venture facilities on the island. A new submarine pipeline would bring gas/condensate from the gas field to the processing facilities. The existing Harriet Joint Venture export pipeline would carry gas to the trunkline on the mainland. Condensate would be exported from Varanus Island via tanker through existing Harriet Joint Venture facilities. 786	Realignment of West Coast Highway at south City Beach: Change to environmental conditions
	Summary: The regional values of the Bold Park area have been determined by the Environmental Protection Authority as (Environmental Protection Authority 1994 Bulletin 744): the size of the M47 area, being comparable to Kings Park, is one of the largest remaining bushland remnants in the urban area of the coastal plain; the natural vegetation of the area is of comparatively high quality and includes areas of species at extremes of their known ecological range; the fauna, as with the vegetation, exhibit considerable diversity with bird species being particularly well represented; recreational use is based on regional rather then just local patrons; and because of the above, and the areas’ location in the metropolitan area, its educational value is also rated highly. These areas represent open space of regional importance to the Perth metropolitan area because of their high conservation, recreation and education values. Moreover, there are few substantial areas of urban bushland remaining so close to Perth residential areas. 785	Busselton regional aerodrome
	Summary: The Shire of Busselton has planned for a time frame of 50 years (to 2042) in determining the requirements of the proposed regional aerodrome. Within this time frame the Shire of Busselton considers that jet aircraft would take passengers from interstate and international flights at Perth airport and deliver them to the South West region using Busselton as the focus of aircraft services. The proposal by the Shire of Busselton does not include pilot training programs. The aerodrome will have an 1800 metre runway with a 30 metres sealed width and three metre shoulders of appropriate transverse grading. A total unsealed width of 90 metres is required for runway accommodation. The proposal includes the runway, support infrastructure (such as terminal and car parking facilities, security fencing, and fuel storage) and operation of these facilities (Figure 2). 	Summary: This Bulletin is the Environmental Protection Authority's report and recommendations to the Minister for the Environment on the proposed Hot Briquetted Iron Project. The proponent, BHP Direct Reduced Iron Pty Ltd (BHP-DRI), proposes to build and operate a Hot Briquetted Iron (HBI) plant, approximately 7.5 km south-west of Port Hedland. The plant will produce a nominal 2 Mtpa of iron briquettes, which can be used as a feedstock for electric arc furnaces in the steel making process. Summary: The City of Bunbury and Homeswest are joint proponents for development of a portion of the residential zoned land within Part of Lot 626, and Parts of Lots 301 - 4. The proposal also includes retention of some areas for conservation, management of the designated conservation areas and construction of a water supply storage area. The proposal is located within an area identified for consideration of its conservation value by the Environmental Protection Authority in its System Six report of 1983. Criteria of environmental acceptability for land use proposals within the catchment of Lake Clifton

Summary: Lake Clifton is one of the most significant wetlands in Western Australia. It is internationally important as a waterbird habitat and because it contains the largest known example of living stromatolites , properly called thrombolites, in a lake environment in the southern hemisphere. It is one of only seven lakes in the southern hemisphere where stromatolite-like structures are known to occur in hyposaline water (salinity less than seawater), and has been listed under the Ramsar Convention as having international importance.

East Spar offshore gas field development Varanus Island, North West Shelf

Summary: Western Mining Corporation proposes developing the East Spar gas field located in Commonwealth waters approximately 50 kilometres west of Barrow Island. Processing facilities would be constructed and operated on Varanus Island immediately adjacent to the existing Harriet Joint Venture facilities on the island. A new submarine pipeline would bring gas/condensate from the gas field to the processing facilities. The existing Harriet Joint Venture export pipeline would carry gas to the trunkline on the mainland. Realignment of West Coast Highway at south City Beach: Change to environmental conditions

Summary: The regional values of the Bold Park area have been determined by the Environmental Protection Authority as (Environmental Protection Authority 1994 Bulletin 744): the size of the M47 area, being comparable to Kings Park, is one of the largest remaining bushland remnants in the urban area of the coastal plain; the natural vegetation of the area is of comparatively high quality and includes areas of species at extremes of their known ecological range; the fauna, as with the vegetation, exhibit considerable diversity with bird species being particularly well represented; recreational use is based on regional rather then just local patrons; and because of the above, and the areas’ location in the metropolitan area, its educational value is also rated highly. These areas represent open space of regional importance to the Perth metropolitan area because of their high conservation, recreation and education values. Moreover, there are few substantial areas of urban bushland remaining so close to Perth residential areas.

Busselton regional aerodrome

Summary: The Shire of Busselton has planned for a time frame of 50 years (to 2042) in determining the requirements of the proposed regional aerodrome. Within this time frame the Shire of Busselton considers that jet aircraft would take passengers from interstate and international flights at Perth airport and deliver them to the South West region using Busselton as the focus of aircraft services. The proposal by the Shire of Busselton does not include pilot training programs. The aerodrome will have an 1800 metre runway with a 30 metres sealed width and three metre shoulders of appropriate transverse grading. A total unsealed width of 90 metres is required for runway accommodation. The proposal includes the runway, support infrastructure (such as terminal and car parking facilities, security fencing, and fuel storage) and operation of these facilities (Figure 2).
