Summary: This report provides the advice and recommendations of the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) to the Minister for the Environment on the environmental factors relevant to a proposal by BHP Billiton Iron Ore Pty Ltd (BHPBIO) to mine the Yandi orebody, within mining leases (ML) 270SA and 47/292. BHPBIO operates the Marillana Creek (Yandi) mine, which is located 90 kilometres northwest of Newman, in the Pilbara Region of Western Australia.
